About Left on Tenth

Left on Tenth is a true story about love, hope, and the wonder of second chances. When she least expects it, Delia Ephron, best-selling novelist and screenwriter of You've Got Mail, makes a surprising connection with a man from her past and falls into her own romantic comedy. As their immediate spark blossoms into a love story that seems to defy all odds, Delia’s life takes an unexpected turn. Left on Tenth tells the messy, beautiful truth about getting older while feeling young, as it celebrates two people with the courage to rewrite their futures and open their hearts again.

I laughed and I cried
"Both funny and moving with an incredible cast. The hour and forty minutes flies by. Knowing it’s true makes it all the more compelling. My wife and I are both cancer survivors. Julianna and Peter are spot in in their portrayals of the patient and her husband. Put this on your list of shows to see."

I absolutely loved it
"So personally and intimately acted. I’ve always loved Julianna and Peter on television and the big screen. It was such a treat to see them acting live. They are wonderful at their craft. Left On Tenth is full of emotional ups and downs, lots of laughs, and I enjoyed every minute"

Heartfelt, funny, and hopeful!
"Read the book For the whole story. We didn't know how a sad real life story could be made with so much humor BUT it was. This play was fast moving and humorous every step of the way. The 4 actors were amazing. We highly recommend it. "

Funny and Real
"Love the fact that it's a True Story and a hopeful message that does not sugar coat the Hard Times. Great to see "not-young" actors featured in Julianna Margulies and Peter Gallagher. Loved the challenging variety of multiple-roles played by Peter Francis James and Kate MacCluggage. I bet the costume/wig changes backstage were a show in themselves!"

Great Message of Hope Love Life
"My wife saw an interview about this play and asked me to go. I knew nothing about the story and was delighted in both the acting and the totality of the message. I walked out with a great sense of hope "

Beauutiful Play !
"Wow ! Delia Ephron’s writing is superb! Thoughtful, poignant, insightful & funny. Based on her memoire by the same title, the characters are charming, authentic & captivating. Exquisite stage craft in set & music. Brilliant acting by the entire gifted & celebrated cast ! Loved seeing the quick character & costume changes as per another cherished playwright, A.R. Gurney’s work in The Dining Room. Hats off to all ! As a cancer survivor myself, the themes of tenacity & new beginnings spoke deeply to my Soul. Just an unforgettable performance. And let’s not forget the two sweet little dogs in the play ! So lovable ! And it's easy to see that they are treated with love on & off the stage. So glad I saw this play during my short & sweet visit to New York ! "

Once is not enough
"There is no single word that describes this play. Stellar, poignant, funny, thought-provoking, heart/gut-wrenching and inspiring are all appropriate descriptors in equal measure. I chose to see this based on the cast and they did not disappoint. I would have watched them read the phone book but going in, knowing it was written by Delia Ephron I expected beautiful dialog and I got that in spades. I could see it all over again. The set was thoughtfully designed and the staging, artful. A runaway hit. "

A Well-Told Tale of Life's Highs & Lows
"The acting is top-notch. Julianna Margulies and Peter Gallagher shine in the lead roles. Delia Ephron transports us into a period of her life that was filled with an extra helping of ups and downs. You will laugh, you will cry, and the emotional roller-coaster of life will seem very relatable to many of the elders in the audience. Still, it is a story that anyone who believes in love, fate, and hope will find gripping and emotionally satisfying."
