"I thought the musical was not exciting at all. It was boring to me. I just thought it would be much better. The stories the women told were not excited or interesting to me. "

"I was looking forward to the show but was disappointed. Show was absurd. I didn’t get the point of it. Very hard to decipher words of songs—acoustics? Best part was that it was very short"

"This musical attempted to be many things and it fell short. It claims to be a historical feminist musical, but you don’t learn any history. You don’t learn about the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII or who they were as people(it’s really just stuff that everyone knows going into it like how they died). The dialogue pits the women against each other and makes them sound like catty, arrogant drama queens who are competing in a pity Olympics (they literally fight over who had more miscarriages). In the last 10 minutes they pretend that the whole play was a self aware joke to make the audience examine our preconceived notions, but it feels lazy and inauthentic. It seems like the director wrote a horribly anti-feminist script, realized it at the end and instead of changed it just wrote one Reverse Uno song claiming they knew it was problematic the whole time and that the audience is the insensitive one. Plus it’s is not even a musical, it’s just a singing competition. There are no set changes, costumes changes, dancing, or different scenes. To matters even worse the singing is mid and the acting is cringey. "

"What a waste of money. I felt like I lost IQ points watching this show. It caters to 12-year-old pop culture fans. We saw "Book of Mormon" and "Water for Elephants" the next two nights, and both were 10x better."

"This was the first Broadway show we've seen that we didn't enjoy. It wasn't musical theatre at all. It was more like a hip hop concert. We were expecting a musical take on the history of the 6 wives. Instead, the premise of the show was each wife was trying to show that she had it worst while married to the king. There was very little dialog. Just an hour & twenty minutes of angry songs. Very disappointing. "

"Not your typical Broadway show. No set changes or big cast just 5 singers and a band on stage. So if a big glitzy Broadway musical is what you seek this may not be for you. Having said that the show was very good. The talent was top notch, with good songs. A little dancing and the cast was very energetic. Not what I expected but was happily surprised. You will be entertained."
