About Stereophonic

Stereophonic mines the agony and the ecstasy of creation as it zooms in on a music studio in 1976, where an up-and-coming rock band finds itself on the cusp of superstardom. Written by David Adjmi, directed by Daniel Aukin, and featuring original music by Arcade Fire’s Will Butler, this electrifying new play takes audiences inside the powder keg process of a band on the brink of blowing up.

"Every one of the actors did an incredible job in their roles. Not sure how they can bring that level of intensity 8x/week. The music was really good as well. Just wish there had been more of it. The show started a little sluggishly, but kicked into gear by the second act, so be patient. "

"It was an excellent performance from the cast especially during the intense scenes and the music was excellent and captured the essence of 70s rock. Loved it! There was also nice humour in the play which didn't feel forced. Definitely a must watch. "

"This ended up being a great show. It’s a little bit long and the first half was a little slow, but after seeing the second half I understand how they were building up the background. the second half of the show( don’t leave at intermission), blew it out of the park it was fabulous. I highly recommend the show"

"I especially liked the music which mostly reminded me of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks. At first, I could care less about the dynamics of the characters but after a while, the dynamics of the characters grew on me. I ended up liking the show but not loving it."

"Sometimes the dialog was a little too rapid and at times there were more than one conversation going on concurrently. Otherwise, it was a unique and a very good performance. "
