Stereophonic mines the agony and the ecstasy of creation as it zooms in on a music studio in 1976, where an up-and-coming rock band finds itself on the cusp of superstardom. Written by David Adjmi, directed by Daniel Aukin, and featuring original music by Arcade Fire’s Will Butler, this electrifying new play takes audiences inside the powder keg process of a band on the brink of blowing up.
"Incredible music and acting. You don't need to know about Fleetwood Mac to enjoy..might even be better if you don't. It's a music/love/relationships story with great performances and it's a pleasure to watch the characters grow and change through the play. Had such a great time."

"I loved every detail and would have gladly watched again right away. Hilarious, poignant, and reminded me when I needed it that America itself is a creative endeavor of exhilarating highs and desperate lows, frustrating setbacks and near ruptures, deep exhaustion and endless takes. "

"It starts out slow and it’s very long. But totally worth persevering. Loosely based on a band in the late 70s producing their perfect iconic album. Can you say Fleetwood Mac? The music was great, and the nostalgia appealed to my younger years."

"As a baby boomer I loved the costumes, 1970s vocabulary, and the conflicts in relationships one experiences in early adulthood. The play illustrates the power struggle between couples that work together displaying a relatable universal theme. There were long pauses, almost awkward silence, between spoken lines which created opportunity for reflective, thought in that white noise. "

"For a show about sound the silences were so full of meaning. This gave the viewer the time to process what was happening- not many shows allow you that luxury.
Will Brill’s Tony is well deserved!!
All of the cast were great and I’m looking forward to cast album."

"This was an in depth exploration of the subjects of work, ambition, fame and what relational costs you're willing to pay. It was great to watch an entire cast that so jelled with each other and the material. The lack of famous actors in this production was very refreshing and kept the performances feeling gutsy and real. Plays begin with the writing and this play retains an improvisational feel without losing the tightness of good writing. The set was a perfect blend of subterfuge when necessary and yet still revealed everything you needed to see.

"Every one of the actors did an incredible job in their roles. Not sure how they can bring that level of intensity 8x/week. The music was really good as well. Just wish there had been more of it.
The show started a little sluggishly, but kicked into gear by the second act, so be patient. "

"It was an excellent performance from the cast especially during the intense scenes and the music was excellent and captured the essence of 70s rock. Loved it! There was also nice humour in the play which didn't feel forced. Definitely a must watch. "

Otherwise, it was a unique and a very good performance.
