Why I went to see this show four times

"As a feminist activist in the 1970s and '80s, I read about the Suffrage movement, so I was aware of the historical events and people represented in the show. I teared up several times (each time I was at the show!). The most moving line was "I want my great granddaughter to know I was here" - which reflects my own feelings about "being there" in the second wave of feminism. Another particularly moving moment was when Alice Paul was working (alone) in the Belmont House decades later and the woman with the NOW button walked in - that could have been me. I actually did meet Alice Paul once, when she was in a nursing home in Moorestown NJ. The NJ NOW had a conference in Moorestown in 1973(?) and a bunch of us drove over to wave to her in her room. Then some of us were allowed to go upstairs to her room (maybe a half-dozen). She was SO HAPPY to see us - after toiling alone for 50 years, finally a new wave of feminists were coming to pick up the fight for the ERA and other issues. Aside from this purely personal stuff, I felt the songs were well written and well performed and that the acting and singing were superb. Shana Taub has more talent than anyone deserves!! Having written the book and the music, she brought Alice Paul to life. (However, two of the performances I saw had the very talented understudy playing Alice). "

A must see amazing show

"I really loved Suffs. It was well done and kept my full attention the whole time. I learned a bit about history and appreciate even more my rights as a woman in a male dominated world even today. Highly recommend it. "

Wonderful!

Inspired

"This show was excellent. Loved the story, music and cast. I was ready to go protest walking out and never give up such a hard fought for freedom. Inspiring story given our current political climate. This is a story more need to know so we don’t get complacent, this right is one that was hard fought and well earned by some incredibly tough women. Dare I say some “Great American B******”!!!"

A Magical & Musical Review of Suffrage History

"Oh wow this this show deliver the goosebumps, the awe, the inspiration and the anger. What passion... Makes you want to shout. A necessary lesson, all wrapped up in song and dance, for what our foremothers went through to take even minimal steps for equality. The show's main message - the fight is not over, makes it clear that fighting is not simple; that in every fight, choices are made. Nothing is perfect. The journey is hard. But equality is worth fighting for. GO SEE SUFFS! "

Women of the USA "Keep Marching"

"This is a historically important story of the amazing women that had to fight for their right to vote. This work could not be more poignant at this time in today's politics. I would encourage you to take your tweens and teens. As a white male, I found it extremally powerful and captivating.
