Following a sold-out, extended run at The Public Theater, Suffs arrives on Broadway — and not a moment too soon. From the singular mind of Shaina Taub, this “remarkable, epic new musical” (Variety), boldly explores the victories and failures of a struggle for equality that’s far from over.
It’s 1913 and the women’s movement is heating up in America, anchored by the suffragists — “Suffs,” as they call themselves — and their relentless pursuit of the right to vote. Reaching across and against generational, racial, and class divides, these brilliant, flawed women entertain and inspire us with the story of their hard-won victory in an ongoing fight. So much has changed since the passing of the Nineteenth Amendment over a century ago, and yet we’re reminded sometimes we need to look back, in order to march fearlessly into the future.
"Suffs offers a complete and entertaining telling of the story of latter part of the fight for women’s suffrage in the United States. The characters are compelling, the songs powerful and entertaining, and there is both humor and poignancy to help to tell the story.
While I am sad that is it is closing on Broadway, I am happy that it will be going on tour so more people can learn the story behind these amazing women. "

It Will Hit You With Full Force
"Enlightening, infuriating and inspiring. Marvel at the real women (and few men) behind this incredible history lesson and celebrate the incomparable talent who created this show. Lyrics, music, book, production, performance - all hit with a gut punch. The last number hit so hard I wanted to sit in the audience and cry for 10 minutes alone, but that might be weird. Must-see for budding feminists or anyone who’s ever met a woman and recognizes their beauty, strength and worth. Shaina Taub is a genius. You will not be disappointed."

Timeless and timely
"The cast was a joy.
Loved the all female cast decision.
It’s heartbreaking and inspiring. It reminds, as if we could forget, that the fight for our human rights is never done.
I sobbed during parts but I am 65, of the generation that fears we let our children down.
Forward, alway forward. "

"Absolutely wonderful show. I live near Canandaigua where Susan B Anthony was tried and found guilty of voting illegally. This area is so full of women’s history yet I found Suffs educational, thought provoking and fun. Cast was just excellent! Children who know anything about this but definitely for teens who will help us return to our rights as they are gradually taken away should see it!"

Fabulous
"This show predominantly uses music to push the story forward. It is a true history of women's suffrage in America. As you watch, you experience a mix of joy, triumph and deep pain. For women, the right to vote did not come easily. The audience became involved and responded with tears and cheers as the story moved along. The lady next to me said, "I'm so glad my 13 year old daughter got to see this.""

The Next Time is…. NOW!
"This brilliant, funny and deeply touching story lays bare the history of how American democracy excluded women for far too long. Even more, how it avoided including women of color for even longer. The struggle is far from over as a backlash against equal rights emerges today. An all-female cast of brilliant singers and actors deliver this enthralling tale with verve and outstanding skill and talent. Brava!"

It’s About Time I learned About the History of the Women’s Movement!!!
"The book, staging, singing, dancing, acting, costumes were all sensational. How thrilling it was to finally learn about the women’s movement. I’m embarrassed it took this long to learn abut the suffrigists as I am a very senior citizen. I just brought my 50 year old daughter to the show and I saw it a second time. It was thrilling. Regarding children at the show I think this show is appropriate for teenagers."
