Great show
"Excellent and heartfelt performances from the cast, beautiful arrangements of the Avett Brothers’ songs, and an entertaining show all around. I felt privileged to see this show on closing night, however, I wish it didn’t have to close. "

Blown away by Swept Away!
"Swept Away tells a tragic tale of a shipwreck and four survivors of the wreck who are haunted by the circumstances. The music is by folk Americana artists The Avett Brothers. The score comes from songs across their catalog - energetic, poignant, and just lovely. "

Great musical
"My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. The set design, music and performers were fantastic. The lighting truly changed the moods accordingly. Would highly recommend seeing this show. It takes a dark turn but overall walked out feeling good. "

I wish everyone could see this amazing show
"The performers have been described as stellar, stunning, a revelation, man eye candy and just dang captivating! The brilliant set and fabulous score by the Avett Bros. just adds to the "marvelousness". I loved everything about this show except that I'm too far away to see it a second time... unless everyone gets tickets now and it gets extended! "

Amazing (but admittedly not for everyone)
"The NYTimes’ “masculine eye candy” quote is spot on. The music is stellar and performed by stellar actors. The harmonies are out of this world. The imagery is beautiful. The shipwreck scene is just stunning. And it leaves you with strong emotions that keep turning in your head. The darkness of it, set to contemporary/rock-ish music, calls to mind Spring Awakening. Different themes and subject matter, but similar impact. I wish I could see it 80 more times "

Fabulous
"Not your typical jukebox musical. The actors were amazing and did a fantastic job with the heavy subject matter. The set was also so well done. Definitely see it before it closes! "

Beautifully tragic
"This show was beautifully crafted. I am so sad that it will not breathe much more life as its closing date is soon. The emotion and passion in this production is just touching. Many messages of love, sacrifice, belief, life, death. everything. in additional, set, costumes, lighting was spectacular. "

Fantastic! I was Swept Away
"From the moment we were seated to the finale, we were swept away. The set, the music, the cast, the atmosphere, the mood, the actors' energy, commitment and delivery, the story - all superb. Even the artwork outside the Longacre Theater was well conceived and executed. The story was the right mix of dark and hopeful. Wonderful production, really."

Blown Away
"Saw “Swept Away” yesterday and feel so honored to have had the opportunity to see it due to the devastating announcement that it is closing next week. Acting truly drew us in, incredible voices, and the set transported us to each of the intense moments. Such a cohesive cast and so sorry it didn’t have the chance to flourish on Broadway."

Well done, Avett Sailors!!💙
"We were so impressed with this show! The cast did the Avett Brothers' music proud! We travel the states to see the Avett Brothers in concert, and honestly worried about others singing their songs! They were phenomenal....the dancing, the choreography, the story-telling ALL top-notch!! After the show, the actors came out, signed our playbill and genuinely thanked us for coming! There was a young boy, maybe 10 or 11, waiting for autographs and one cat member wanted to make sure he knew that there was fake blood in the knife and no one was really hurt so not to be worried or afraid! Well above and beyond a simple signature. If I lived in NYC, I would definitely go again and again!"

Dark, moody, entertaining
"This musical was an amazing production that allowed for a concise performance of some of Avett Brothers’ classics. The story was fascinating, the acting superb, the singing was astounding and the show kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Dark and desperate, at times funny and lighthearted, with a few twists I really didn’t see coming. Great show. "

Amazing
"Avett fans are in for a treat. Songs we love have been arranged and lyrics changed to fit the story. The actors are amazing and the design of the whole show is fantastic. Harmonies are amazing. We enjoyed it very much. We also enjoyed the runtime. I’d be interested to know how people who are unfamiliar with The Avett Brothers connected with the music and how it helped tell the story. "
