About The Roommate

See Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone prove that being bad can be so much fun.

Sharon (Farrow) has never had a roommate before. But after her divorce, she needs a housemate to pay the bills. That's when Robyn (LuPone) arrives. The Roommate by Jen Silverman is about an unexpected, life-changing friendship that's both funny and deeply moving, between two very different middle-aged women as they navigate the complexities of identity, morality, and the dream of reinvention.

"Never having been in New York before I opted for a musical and non-musical Broadway experience. Having no prior information about the production, the Roommate was beyond my expectations for entertainment. Both Patti Lapone and Mia Farrow were superb and perfect as Robin and Sharon. I just knew both actors would be great and they did not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed the comedy, drama, pacing and story development of the show. I would have loved to had more time in the city to have seen it again. Do not hesitate to see this production before it is gone. You'll never regret seeing the play with these two professionals leading the way. Also, the Booth Theater was a perfect venue for this production - the right size and all seats, I feel, had to have been very good to put you into the play and keep you there. Do not miss it!"

"Mia Farrow was outstanding! Patti LuPone was fabulous in her role. Together they made the 100 minutes move along. At times funny and heartfelt, you will not be disappointed. Ms. Farrow and Ms. LuPone, as well as the play itself should receive Tony nominations. A MUST-see play!!!"

"It was absolutely wonderful. simple conversations between two women were able to bring out a chuckle,or loud laughter. Most were one liners, sometimes only 2 or 3 words strung together, but the tone in which they were said conveyed many truths that were indeed funny,One had to be there listening to them talking back and forth, trying to gauge and understand the OTHER. Scenes flowed well, the direction was crisp.Miss Farrow was perfect in her portrayal of the character she played. It was a treat to follow her every move on the stage and the mannerisms she displayed to make that part come alive. For the entire duration one almost forgot the movie star as she became one with the role. All in all, this play should not be missed"

"I purchased tix because how many opportunities does one get to see 2 legends on 1 stage. Ms. Farrow and Ms. Lupone did not disappoint. It was like watching 2 heavyweights go back and forth. Cliche aside, I seriously laughed and cried. Absolutely unbelievable performances. It made me want to see more of these women. So glad they were afforded this vehicle to shine. A poignant story about life, love, loss, growth, regrets, labels, coming to terms with our past and having the guts to create our present and our future. I have always liked Mia Farrow but my appreciation for her talent has now increased exponentially. Literally translated, my new girl crush. :)"

"I did no research on the content of this show before going. I just knew that Patti Lupone and Mia Farrow were portraying roommates and that was enough for me! I have been a fan of Patti since Evita days and Mia since I would hide from my parents in Alabama while reading Peyton Place and then slipping to watch it on TV…in black and white. These two ladies did not disappoint… great set, lighting, music and costumes… go see this before it closes!"
