See Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone prove that being bad can be so much fun.
Sharon (Farrow) has never had a roommate before. But after her divorce, she needs a housemate to pay the bills. That's when Robyn (LuPone) arrives. The Roommate by Jen Silverman is about an unexpected, life-changing friendship that's both funny and deeply moving, between two very different middle-aged women as they navigate the complexities of identity, morality, and the dream of reinvention.
"Such a wonderful, intelligent script perfectly interpreted by two veteran actresses. I loved both characters, but Mia Farrow’s character steals the show. I laughed, I cried; my head and heart were touched."

"I had no idea what to expect with this play. I knew if it had Patti Lupone performing then I knew it would be a winner. Mia Farrow was outstanding. She was hysterical and the combination of these two (2) women in one show makes it a once in a lifetime event. DO NOT HESITATE IN SECURING THESE TICKETS!!! You’ll regret missing out on a phenomenal performance."

"Who would have ever paired these two ( and in real life dear friends!) ?? The juxtaposition on stage really works with Lupone bolstering Farrow in a way that aligns to the story . The kooky story is just a device for watching these 2 Titans work ."

"The set was perfect, the twists in plot were sometimes predictable, but those two equivocating, attacking, and accommodation old pro actors was a very special experience for me, sitting a mere 25 feet from them"

"Great to see two actresses ageing with class and obviously having a good time together.
Personally I enjoyed the humour, irony and whimsy! Why not be liberated and be bad? !"

"Mia Farrow was riveting as ever. Her ingenue remained in character for the whole performance and she stole the show in many ways. Patti LuPone was credible and slightly overdone in her delivery of the role but the story was compelling and the mysterious path of her character was well developed throughout the play. A memorable and enjoyable day at the theater! "

"THE ROOMMATE is a must see. The script is delightfully humorous and well written. Marsha Mason, stepping in for Mia Farrow at the VERY LAST minute, was purely remarkable. She and Patti LuPone moved through the one act play like an easy breeze on a crisp spring day. Two incredible, polished (even with one carrying a script which magically became a part of her character) actors; a must see!!"

"Two characters who could not be more different forge an odd friendship and even go into "business" together. Suspend your disbelief, sit back, relax and enjoy! Mia Farrow is sometimes a cartoon rather than a character but I got over that. Patti LuPone is her wonderful self."

"Performances were exceptional. Two legends of the stage together. Found the play a bit confusing or weak but it didn’t matter to me. Mia and Patti are icons. They inhabited the characters credibly. "

"If there is a better actress than Mia Farrow I don’t know who it could be. Ms LuPone also shines and keeps a rather sagging script from sinking to the bottom. Impeccable pros both. Sometimes everything works the way it should. Keep it running. "

"I absolutely loved this play. The performances from both Farrow and Lupone were wonderful to watch. They were master classes and the audience was the beneficiary. I know the play ends mid December and I wish that wasn’t the case. It then denies so many others the opportunity to see theatrical perfection.

"You can't beat Patty & Mia together. Their chemistry was good. The push pieces and reviews I read billed it as a comedy. I found it to be, at best, a "dark comedy." I recommend it because of the actors, but with anyone else in it I would say to skip it."

"I liked the dynamic between the 2 characters. Was charmed by their story.
Was a treat to watch 2 such solid and accomplished actresses interact on stage.
Mia Farrow's character had a more interesting arc than Patti LuPone's who didn't have much of one.
Beginning felt a bit slow. But all in all the play, if not memorable, was charming and entertaining."

"I loved how both characters evolved in the play. Patti LuPone has a star quality in her acting that is always fascinating to watch because of the specificity of her diction and movement. Mia Farrow surprisingly won me over with the charm and transformation of her character. She was the heart of the Roommate, which as a play won’t win any prizes despite performers who absolutely found wonderful comedic moments and made the most of a lame script. It was very predictable and simple."

"We Wanted to see Mia Farrow & Patty Lupone! ..two iconic stars! But the story line was "so so". Had assumed it was abt a lifelong friensdship and their journey. Was disappointed. Would not recommend. It was a letdown. Were some funny moments and reflections on changes in society& aging. (We were a group of "50ish" long island friends who had not seen a play since covid)! Sorry but seeing the 2 women stars (who were great)..did not ease our overall let down."

"It's always a pleasure to watch Patt LuPone and Mia Farrow on stage. Unfortunately, the play isn't that interesting and doesn't showcase their considerable talent. However, it features women as the primary subject matter that's a good thing. I couldn't buy the arc of the Farrow character as it seemed forced, unrealistic, and took the play sideways. Of note, it was clear the play visibly lost the audience (and me) when a certain prop appeared. It was silly, unnecessary, and way over the top. After that scene, I lost interest in the characters, what really is a thin story, and patiently waited for it to end."

"Did not like the directing or set. Although the two actors had chemistry it felt kind of static and flat. Just exchanging conversation. A few good moments but not nearly enough to sustain those two actors. Nothing moving about it. "
