About Wicked

Wicked, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another girl, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”

Interesting take on a familiar story
"The music and lyrics are by Stephen Schwartz (who also did Pippin) and they are beautiful, especially “Because I knew you, I’ve been changed for good”. The choreography and set are wonderful but the orchestra is soooo loud that, often, you cannot hear and understand the actresses when they speak."

"I don’t like it when the audience moves about during the performance. "

Outstanding entertainment!!!
"This was my first experience with a Broadway production and it did not disappoint ! Truly entertaining and amazing from the cast to the effects. If given the opportunity, everyone should see this. "

A witching decision
"Although I did enjoy the show, it was probably not one of my favorites. I think that I would be in the minority regarding my opinion. Also, I think that it was a little too drawn out for me. My 10-year-old grandson really enjoyed it, and that was the main reason for our visit. I would have not chosen that play if it were not for him. The acting was good however it was difficult for me to understand Galinda‘s words when she was singing. Additionally, the applause at the end of the show was evident that I was in the minority. "

Fun but no Lloyd Webber
"Fun performance and great staging. The lyrics and music however were not great. Unlike all the great musicals and theatre productions, no song was memorable, it sounded like a load of spoken words put to random music. I enjoyed it, but would not see it again. "

mixed review
"I liked the scenery which was very unique. Loved the lighting for Emerald City. Creative use of the cables over the audience for the chimps to fly. The costumes were excellent. Groups of actors with good singing voices---however words difficult to understand at times due to loud volume and so many voices. I would have lessened the number of songs and dances overall. (yes I know this is a musical) The plot seemed weak to me. It is the only time I have ever wanted to leave during an intermission, but when I thought of the price of the ticket---decided to stay until the end. "
