Ali is a 17-year-old girl full of fire – searching for freedom, passion and her place in the world. How she finds them is a New York City coming-of-age story you've never felt before – Hell's Kitchen, a new musical from 16-time Grammy® Award winner Alicia Keys, whose songs and experiences growing up in NY inspire a story made for Broadway. The “powerhouse cast” (Variety) is led by Shoshana Bean, Brandon Victor Dixon, Kecia Lewis, Chris Lee, and Maleah Joi Moon.
Hell's Kitchen is directed by four-time Tony Award® nominee Michael Greif, with choreography by Tony Award nominee Camille A. Brown, a book by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Tony Award nominee Kristoffer Diaz – and the music of Keys, featuring new songs and her greatest hits.

"I saw this show with my daughter and granddaughter and we all absolutely loved it. It had me dancing in my seat, laughing and crying. Didn’t know I could cry so hard at a play. But maybe because parts resonated personally with me. But when I looked over my daughter was holding my hand and her daughter’s hand in a particular part of the play. I will be posting on IG for all of my followers to please go see Hell’s Kitchen!!"

"The music was incredible! Went with a group of 8 rising 10th graders and they absolutely loved this show. It was a little hard to understand what was being said/sung at some parts of the show, but maybe that was due to our seats being located in the mezzanine. Overall, would definitely recommend."

"Love the way it started with the mother, Jersey and Ali, However, it was disappointing that after only 20 or 30 minutes, the lead actor had to do switched out due to an injury. I came from SF to see her and it was a total bummer! Her replacement was fabulous as well, but still.
I was in the balcony on Rojay and I am 5 foot one and could not see the top of the stage due to the balcony overhang. I think there needs to be some disclaimer when you buy a seat pass row G. Is there any kind of credit I could get for myself and two guests?
All in all, The singing and dancing was fantastic!"

"Although there were maybe 4 AK songs this is not a “juke box” musical. Great songs, a real story and amazing performances. It’s touching, funny, dramatic and just an excellent show. Don’t miss it. "

"While Broadway has been good the past few years, Hell's Kitchen was outstanding! Great story of Alicia Keys as a 17 year old girl that led to her inspiration as one of the most amazing performers in our lifetime!
Maleah Joi Moon certainly deserved the Tony for best actress in a musical. Her electric presence as Ali was mesmerizing on stage and captivated the audience with her singing and acting.
Kecia Lewis was powerful in both acting and singing as Miss Lizzie Jane and also deserved her Tony for featured actress!
Overall, ALL acting and singing performances we were outstanding as well as the dancing team ensemble!
This was Broadway at its best! GO see it now!.."

"This high-energy, high-quality performance was made up of all-star performers — certainly the leads, but also the full cast and orchestra, who provided a delightful jam after the curtain closed. The singers’ voices, as well as their dance moves, were among the best collectively that I’ve ever seen on Broadway!"

"The show was amazing. The performers voices were nothing less than spectacular.
The theater however was a huge disappointment. The balcony seats are extremely tight. If you are tall you will have a difficult time sitting through the entire performance."

"I have been a long time fan of Bway shows and this was my child’s first. She loved it even though she only knew a limited amount of the songs. She looked at me every time a bad word was said to make sure she was still good to continue watching but when I gave her the nod she was back locked in. The singing was good, the characters were not fully written but were good enough. All in all, it did what it was supposed to do and even got a few emotional tears out of me in the 2nd half. "

"My daughter in Santiago recommended me this musical for my first visit to the Big Apple. And it was a real treat for me to see and hear such talented artists on stage. Great voices and superb dancing to complement a very touching story depicting part of the life of Alicia Keys. What was cooking in Hell's Kitchen was a real drama that probably is affecting quite a good number of young people in monoparental homes, not only in America but also in other places in the world."

"I was asked if I liked Hell's Kitchen, and my response was Hell Yes!!
Vibrant, energetic, and soulful. The only reason I gave it a 4 vs 5, is bec of the language. If you take your kids, be prepared."

"Just to let audiences know....the story is more a moment in time for the lead character. It all takes place when she was 17. It is not an autobiographical piece about Alicia Keys. After the opening sequences, there is little said about Hell's Kitchen itself. All that being said, the talent is tremendous. It is worth the ticket price to see and hear the women; Maleah Joi Moon, Shoshana Bean, & Kecia Lewis!! The choreography is fun and exhilarating! When the music was at it's loudest, it overpowered the vocals and I couldn't hear much of the lyrics. It just wasn't necessary....balance the music with the vocals PLEASE! I want to hear what they're singing about! Overall, it was a great evening of entertainment with powerful performances!"

"Fantastic music, exciting choreography and an urban designed setting that has the audience from the first notes to the grand finale. It’s about family, first love, the rebellious and creative spirit that all converges when you’re 17. It’s a portrait of the good and not so good of the city’s struggling working class and diverse community. But, above all, it’s a love song to the apartment building where you grew up, the neighborhood you hung out in, and the creative energy and vitality of NYC. "

"Like everything else on broadway its overmiked but even
When its just dialogue actors nowadays don’t know how to enunciate or project the only exception being the woman who won the tony for best supporting and that’s because she started performing when those skills were necessary and expected"

"The show was well worth the money. We especially enjoyed Kecia Lewis's and Shoshana Bean's performances. The "adults" rocked! The music was fine, though sometimes so loud the voices got drowned out. People should know that there are strong strobing lights. We were surprised at the late seating policy -- people were being seated 30+ minutes after the show started -- at least they were in the upper balcony where we were."

"The cast was so phenomenally talented that you could overlook the boring and lackluster story. Spent so much time with the main character fighting with her mom to form any true emotional connection to any characters. Every song gave you chills but the story didn’t show the point of the young girl who was wasting her potential talent. "
