One of the fall season’s big events is the return of Neil Simon’s autobiographical plays Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound, which will be produced in rep at Broadway’s Nederlander Theatre with a cast headed by Laurie Metcalf. On August 24, after the actors’ first read-through of both plays under the direction of the red-hot David Cromer (Our Town), the company arrived at Sardi’s for a meet-and-greet. Standing center-stage during the photo op: the 82-year-old playwright himself!
