Oh, Mary! is a dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot (playwright Cole Escola).
Declared “one of the best comedies in years” by The New York Times, Oh, Mary! has been heralded as the funniest play on Broadway by the New York Post, Entertainment Weekly, Variety, Time Out New York, and The Guardian. “It’s a bona fide phenomenon,” raves The Wall Street Journal, and Variety calls it “unquestionably the funniest, gayest, campiest play Broadway has seen in years.”
Oh, Mary! is now extended through June 29, 2025. Cole Escola dons the bratty curls through January 19, and Emmy nominee Betty Gilpin (GLOW, Mrs. Davis) stars as Mary Todd Lincoln beginning January 21 through March 16.
"Book of Mormon on steroids! Not for the easily offended. You will laugh until your face hurts. "

"I was skeptical when my friend suggested this show, but in the weeks leading up to it, many funny people - Seth Meyers, Sean Hayes, Jason Bateman and Will Arnett among them - highly recommended this show and they were right. Cole Escola's play is ridiculous, historically inaccurate, raunchy, and probably offensive, to most, but he and the entire cast are hilarious. I giggled from beginning to end. This may be one of those shows where the creator may be the best/only interpreter of the material, but time will tell. Rush to see it before Cole's run ends, if you can."

"My self and my husband are musical fans so we dont often see plays. I heard so many great things about this show from TV and other social media. We are also fans of Cole Escola and Conrad Ricamora. We were planning a weeknd in NY for the holiday and once I noticed that Oh Mary was extended I bought 2 tickets ASAP.
We were so happy with the show. We laughed and liked the story and everyone was great in it. "

"Typically, I’m a “smile with occasional laugh” when I’m enjoying a show. Not during Oh Mary! I laughed out loud - HARD. Throughout. A review would never do it justice - just this show!!!"

"This show was hilarious from the pre-curtain announcements to the final words. I didn’t stop laughing the whole way through. And I don’t mean chuckling or smiling. I mean laughing. Incredibly clever humor throughout. And the acting was amazing, bringing out the humor every step of the way. "
