Our Town, the timeless drama of life in the village of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire, has become an American classic with universal appeal. Thornton Wilder’s most frequently performed play, Our Town appeared on Broadway in 1938 to wide acclaim and won the Pulitzer Prize. This production will be the first major Broadway revival of the play in nearly 25 years.
"The cast did a wonderful job bringing the town to life. With no intermission it was moved along by the stage manger. Jim Parsons was great."

Our Town held true to the original but included a more modern twist
"Acting was superb! The sets were very minimal but the actors were able to provide vision enhancement with their actions. Would certainly recommend this play. "

Good Show
"I’m a fan of the old film. This was modernized and it worked in some ways not in others. The smell of Helitrope during the show was lovely. This was because of Mrs Gibbs garden. Jim Parson was a solid Narrator but at times he pushed characters off stage. That was a bit weird. Also no sets so you have to imagine everything and at times characters would forget they were holding something lol
All in all an enjoyable outing. "

Trouble in intermission land
"This play requires lingering. It should be savored in the same way that it’s content asks us to savor life. It was impossible to savor this production. I think it was because of the unnecessary upfront music, the unnecessary addition of music during the wedding, and removing both intermissions. The need to get us out of the theater because it’s a long play without an intermission resulted in pacing so that the audience can hardly linger and enjoy any moment at all. It was one of the most unmoving productions of Our Town I’ve ever seen. I’m very disappointed because the reviews suggest otherwise."

Early 1900's or 2024?
"I thought the performances were a bit bland, nothing stood out as great but that is true to the way the play was written.
I did not like that the costumes had some characters wearing updated clothes not true to when the play takes place but maybe this was over my head, lol"
